Who are we?

Classe Libre is a documentary film production company who is interested in sensitive narratives and singular voices. Our films seek to shift perspectives and open up spaces for dialogue and understanding. We like to create an encounter between the arts and reality.

Our story

For over a decade, we have been producing documentaries recognized in Quebec and internationally, including Bagages and Seuls, both award-winning at the Gémeaux Awards and screened at numerous festivals around the world. Coming from three distinct backgrounds: Mélissa (education), Catherine (theatre), and Paul (cinema), we bring our experiences together to support a sensitive and committed creative approach.

Paul is:

Your handyman

He likes:

Tutorials, assembling Ikea furniture, sports radio

He wishes:

Having the same hair as David Usher

Paul wants to make films for:

To bring out the fragile and create sounding boards where people can hear each other and be heard.

Melissa is:

Sensitive, sensitive, sensitive

She likes:

Spontaneous things, kind people, birth charts

She wishes:

To dance more, to doubt less

Melissa wants to make films:

To open up sensitive spaces, to reveal what is already there, to weave links between the arts and human stories.
